A recent client contacted us looking for a bespoke solution for their dust vacuum remote. To make sure we could create something that fitted correctly and worked exactly as intended, the remote was sent directly to us.
Using the physical remote for reference, we designed and produced a complete range of mounting options, including a wrist mount, a clip mount, and a magnetic mount.
The final mounts were produced in ABS, which was chosen for its strength, durability, and improved heat resistance. ABS is well suited to functional parts like this because it is tougher than standard PLA, better for repeated everyday use, and more capable of handling workshop environments where parts may be knocked, handled regularly, or exposed to warmer conditions.
By working from the original remote, we were able to tailor each design to the exact shape and size of the unit, helping to ensure a secure fit and reliable performance in use.
From the initial concept through to revisions and final production, the full project was completed for £120. This included the design work, revision process, and the production of around 10 remote mounts for the client.
We were also pleased to receive a 5-star Google review from the client following completion of the project, which was a fantastic way to round off the job.
This project is a great example of how custom design and production can turn a small but frustrating problem into a simple, effective solution.
